Stretch ceilings – KIGO Swisstop
Stretch ceilings that heat, cool and ventilate
SWISSTOP is a patented solution developed by SOLTOP Energie together with Swiss Confection. KIGO stainless steel heat exchangers are mounted between the stretch fabric and the slab. The fabric lets the thermal radiation pass through – the high output of the KIGO heat exchangers is preserved.
Ventilation is also elegantly solved: it is fed directly into the plenum and remains invisible.
The principle: supply and extract air via the edge profile
The key element is the patented edge profile. It is slotted on two sides: on one side, fresh air is blown into the room; on the opposite side, stale air is extracted. This creates a natural air exchange between plenum and room, which additionally increases the cooling capacity – without visible ventilation grilles.
The stretch fabric can be removed and refitted by a specialist as often as needed. Access to the plenum is thus guaranteed at all times. With micro-perforated fabrics, the ceiling also meets the highest acoustic requirements.
Cooling and heating capacity
- Cooling capacity: 86 W/m² without ventilation, 92 W/m² with integrated ventilation (16/19 °C, room 26 °C)
- best compromise between high thermal output and very good acoustic properties
- great architectural design freedom, also with printed fabrics
Integrating lighting
Lighting can be implemented very attractively as light lines or LED strips above the stretch fabric. LED strips in the plenum light the room perfectly evenly – the ceiling becomes one large luminaire.
